« It was good, but it was difficult. I did think about Alem (his fiancee who died), of course. But I didn’t lose her, she is in my heart. Compared to last year, it was harder, because the course was harder, and I have been in mourning. So, my preparation was not the same as last year. The Qataris, they did exactly what I needed : they made the pace fast ».

Tirunesh Dibaba (Ethiopie), winner - long race W :
« I’m very happy with this victory. The race was tough, because of the weather, very dry. It was not very confortable. But this is fine. The course was great. I expected to win ».

Werknesh Kidane (Ethiopie), second - long race W :
